The carnival procession begins at the Hampton Road car park of the racecourse (not the first/main racecourse entrance).
Procession entrants are advised to be in the carpark from 11am for a 12 noon start.
The Police will get things underway at 12 noon when the traffic has been stopped.
**CHANGE IN ROUTE FOR 2009**
Because of the increasing size of the procession and to help trafic flow while in progress, we will not be turning into Crompton street but continuing up Hampton Road into Bowling Street. The route is:
From the carpark, left into Hampton Road
Right into Crompton Street
Left into West Street
Left again into Bowling Street
Up Theatre Street
Right at the traffic lights into Market Place/Church Street
Here the procession stops for around 10 minutes while the Police move their positions.
Left into Jury Street
Down Smith Street
Over St Johns & down the Emscote road
Right at Homebase into Pickard Street
Then into the rear entrance of St Nics Park to the arena.
