The 2012 carnival theme is The Olympics
And what a day we had this year!Sunshine, some great vehicles with huge effort from the entrants and music from the the Warwick Girls Marching Band and the Warwick Community Band making their public debut. The Lions President and the carnival queen and Princesses travelled in real style this year, in some vintage horse and carraiges which looked fantastic. Many thanks to the British Driving School and all the people that gave up their time to be there with the horses. We also so had some vintage trucks supplied by Neil Bartlett of Coventry that fitted in perfectly with the theme.
We had more for the children to do this year with a great assualt course challenge which all seemed to enjoy and we will expand on next year. The Fit to Dance troop and the falconry display were highly entertaining and the dressing up and water relay races provided some great competition.
The procession theme for this year was was judged by the Warwick Mayor, Coun Trudy Offer and the then Lion President Alan Lettis. See the results page for the winners.
The event which is organised by volunteers of the Warwick Lions Club and is a fund raising event for the Lions charity, drew huge crowds all through the town.
